Background Story

Satō Megumi was born in October 13th, 2000, in Osaka-fu, Japan before moving to Tokyo at the age of 4. She grew up with a fondness for music and her parents let her learn musical instruments and she really like playing drums and guitars. And at the age of 19, she got a scholarship to further her studies at the Seoul National University in Business Administration. After a few months of preparation and practicing the Korean language, she flew from Tokyo to Seoul for the September intake. And at her first year in SNU, she joined the university's music club and applied for the university's band as the drummer. Her band name was called The Cherry Blossom. And in her free time especially during the weekends, she'll spend it by doing volunteer works at a local orphanage and homeless shelter, doing busking performances in the streets or she'll going to bars and hanging out with her friends. Now at the age of 25, she already graduated from SNU and now working as a café manager nearby her former campus where she'd met all of the former and current students of SNU.

Elira Jung! Or as I like to call, Eli mommy. My baking and food hunter bestie! The mom of the group. Likes to blabber about her life. During Elira's third year in University of Toronto where they had the "Exchange Opportunities", Elira chose to study in Seoul National University in the same course as me, Business Administration! With a focus on information technology management. Me and a few friends from the same course were selected by the professor who taught us to take a buddy each from the exchanged students and I chose Eli! She seems a bit quiet at first but she is actually talkative when she's not tired. But when she's tired, she couldn't even speak a word. She always ask me to join her when she's going on for a food hunting session which I always went along. Cause your Megumi here can be broke as fuck. Eli has a big, big heart that one can offer and I'm glad to know this fluff ball of sunshine!

Huang Yufei! The celebrity in our Shortcakes squad. Also Eli's childhood friend. We first met when me and Eli went on a trip to Jeju to visit Lani when Lani was doing her experimental thesis for her Masters. Eli introduced him to me. At first, I didn't know he was a celebrity. Heck, he seems like a high schooler more than a celebrity to me. It was a coincidence where Lani was hosting an event at Jeju, near the beach and Yufei was there to perform for locals with his band. So, we went to watch them performing only to be greeted by the news of Eli's childhood friend is actually a singer. And the funny stories they have about their childhood will always be my favorite to laugh. Eli once stole Yufei's cupcake and Yufei once tripped on Eli's toe. Being a bully to one another and now good friends. And eventually, we hangout together and learn a thing or two about being a celebrity from him.

Kailani Kim, my baby who should be protected at all costs! She was born in Malibu and once signed up for an international exchange program for a year at SNU in Marine Biology. Doing Masters about it. Me and Eli, for some odd reasons, always get picked on leading and introducing the campus to the newer and recent exchanged students. We were appointed as Lani's buddies in SNU. And she regularly went to Jeju to do her thesis and experiments for her Masters so me and Eli always takes a chance to visit Lani there. Don't ask me about the plane tickets, it's all on Eli. Hehehe. Lani once hosted an event and coincidentally called Yufei's band to perform and that's how we all met. After she finished her Masters, Lani flew back to Malibu and focused on her career. But we keep visiting each other. Whether we fly to Malibu or Lani fly to Seoul to meet up.So me, Eli, Yufei and Lani made a group chat named The Strawberry Shortcakes. A nickname for our little group.

Asase Mego or Celeste Bae, my bestie who likes to gossip with me! Here's what you need to know about me and her, as told by the person herself;She was born in Kikai, Kagoshima, Japan on 1st of November, 1999. She was orphaned at a young age and was raised by her grandparents, who was one of the reasons why she became an orphan in the first place. She came from a family of witches, and she is also became one—the most powerful among the clan. After escaping the tyranny of her kin, she ended up in Seoul, South Korea to start a new beginning. Mego met me at a café after mistaking me as her relative and she almost turned me into a frog. With her powers revealed to me, we decided to keep a connection, which soon blossomed into friendship that she missed out on when she was in her teens.
